Project Overview

Alliance Française Bangkok marked the first collaboration between TT Construction and Aéroports de Paris Ingénierie (ADPI), a leading French architectural and engineering consultancy specialising in airport design and major infrastructure. ADPI has since become part of Artelia. The project delivered a multi-purpose cultural and educational facility comprising a French language institute, cultural centre, ballet studio, auditorium and library. Careful coordination across the architectural, structural and building-services disciplines ensured that each space met its specific operational requirements while maintaining seamless connectivity throughout the building. The completed development provides an accessible and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors, while supporting Alliance Française Bangkok’s role as a centre for French language, arts and cultural exchange.

Scope of Work

    • Structural works
    • Architectural works
    • Electrical and communication systems
    • Air-conditioning system
    • Sanitary system

Project Highlights

        • Delivered a distinctive external façade inspired by the texture of elephant skin, introducing a contemporary architectural expression rooted in Thai identity
        • Integrated educational, administrative and public cultural facilities within a single, cohesive development.
        • Delivered specialist spaces for performances, exhibitions, workshops and community programmes.
        • Created flexible, accessible spaces capable of supporting both daily activities and larger cultural events.

Project Outcome

The project established a contemporary home for Alliance Française Bangkok, providing the institution with flexible facilities that support education, cultural programming and public engagement. By bringing teaching, performance and community functions together within a single integrated building, the development strengthens the organisation’s ability to serve a diverse audience and host a broad range of activities. The completed facility continues to support Alliance Française Bangkok’s role as an important centre for French language, arts and Franco-Thai cultural exchange.
